IT Republic supported investment house Vontobel in developing their e-banking solution and integrating a new CRM tool into the application landscape.
E-banking
In the area of e-banking, IT Republic was tasked with operating and continuously developing the existing solution. Technologies such as Angular and Spring Boot were used. The e-banking solution included a web application for desktop clients and mobile apps for iOS and Android. In addition, an app was provided that enabled 2-factor authentication for the login. In this context, the integration of Vontobel's core systems, such as Core Banking, and the migration to OpenShift posed a particular challenge.
Customer relationship management
One of the challenges of this project was to keep the data in sync in parallel systems during a transition phase, with IT Republic helping Vontobel set up the integration solution. Data integration was carried out using Apache Kafka. An adapter component implemented using Kotlin Spring Boot ensured that the data was synchronized between the systems and translated into the respective data formats. As a result, data was exchanged between the systems in real time. For example, when a relationship manager added a customer to the new CRM solution, the customer also appeared in the old system within seconds.
